I never saw myself as a recording artist until the year 2017 when I did my first single, "Nguvu Yangu"-says Kenyan upcoming gospel songbird Pendo Evayo

Pendo Evayo, or simply, Pendo, is a melodious and bubbly upcoming Gospel
artist in Kenya.


Pendo describes her gospel sound as "a little bit of everything worshipful
and everything modern". She says that this is best represented in her
mantra #PassionFunGod where she seeks to help people to passionately
pursue God, help them understand that worship is all about enjoying God and
ultimately making Him the main agenda in their lives.


Her music seeks to draw masses to the enjoyment of God as the main agenda
in their lives.


She says,
"Music has been part of me and most of my life, but I never saw myself as a
recording artist until the year 2017 when I did my first single, "Nguvu
Yangu" (you can watch this song on her YouTube channel Pendo Evayo)."


"It all started in the church as a young girl, but in 2016 and 2017 that's when
God spoke to me so many times and through different men of God about my
calling as a minister."


In November 2017, Pendo recorded her first single, "Nguvu Yangu". Nguvu
Yangu, a zouk song, acknowledges God as our strength and hope at all times.
It was well received by listeners and fans across Kenya because it reminds
the listener the core principle in Christianity: to fix our eyes upon
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.


She followed it up in 2018 with the upbeat EDM song "Nitaimba".
Early this year, together with her husband, Pendo released the worship song
"Wastahili" produced by Bwenieve Productions.


These three songs are only an introduction to her ever evolving sound in
the Kenyan gospel fraternity. She promises that more is to come because she
is currently writing music right from her soul to the God of all creation
and she knows that this music will impart something into her listeners and
enable them enjoy God more.


"It is a beautiful journey. We have so much to learn and yet we look
forward to doing so much more by God's grace. The best is yet to come; let
my fans expect a deeper and more intimate interaction with our Lord Jesus
Christ through the music and outreach projects that are coming up in the
near future," she says.


Apart from singing, Pendo is also a music and vocal trainer, a worship
leader, a performing artist, a song writer, a community outreach ambassador
of goodwill and a wife.


She believes that spreading the word of God can be done in so many ways and
especially outside the confines of our churches. She calls out to anyone
