Police in Mombasa are holding two suspects who were allegedly in possession of elephants tusks worth Sh18 million.
Rabai OCPD David Maina said the two were arrested on Tuesday morning in Makobeni village following a tip-off from the public.
Maina said police confiscated 35 pieces of elephant tusks weighing 183 hidden in a house at Rabai.
“Two suspects; John Chisiwa Ngoma & Mwauchi Mgaza were today morning arrested after being found with 35 pieces of elephants tasks,” said Maina.
He further said police have launched a manhunt for two more suspects who escaped.
The two suspects, who are being held at Rabai police station, will be arraigned in court tomorrow.
