Shish Miracle was born normal as any other child. She was well
received by her parents and they thanked God for the gift of a girl
little did they know that she was the only girl they would ever get.
All
was well until 1 year 3 months during the general elections in 1992
when she had an accident that changed her life completely.
Speaking to the Superstar Magazine Shish says her mother woke
up very early to go and vote so that she would come back and allow the
house girl to go and vote too.
However, she woke up before her mum could come
back and cried so much because she was used to being received
by her mum or dad.
She says "There was no one and it led to a lot of restlessness
followed by crying. Our house girl who was in the kitchen washing
utensils felt that this crying was intensifying and decided to carry me and
work with me on her back. But by bad luck, she had not fully wiped
water and soap from her hands. As
she was trying to lift me to her back, I slipped off from her hands and hit
the floor with my head and went unconscious." she proceeds to tell us her story adding that
"The house girl confused and
not knowing what to do she rushed out to the neighbors who knew all was
not well. 4 women in the plotcame very fast to know what went wrong. They found
me on the floor and they decided to rush me to
hospital while 2 of them waited for my mum."
On the other hand her mum who was still waiting to vote in a long queue felt uneasy and felt something was not adding up so she decided to go back home.
She was welcomed by
2 women who broke the news to her calmly. As a woman you would have
expected her mum to cause drama maybe faint or scream but she did none of
that.
"My mum is a strong woman" Shish told us.
She took her purse and rushed to the
hospital as quick as possible. The women followed her since they did not
know what was in her mind. On arrival to the hospital, she was given her daughter by the women before being admitted in the ward.
She placed her only child by the bedside as she waited for hours, days and no response.
She
had to be strong , so she picked her daughter and made a very powerful
prayer, "Lord my daughter cannot die, she has a great future, she will
go far and to the end of the world preaching the word of God through
singing or preaching, so she cannot die in Jesus name, Amen."
She then placed her back on the bed and waited for a miracle.
Remember at ths time she had not slept
since the accident but she was there looking onto Jesus to heal her
only gal.
Lucky enough the miracle came in just after a few days, her daughter woke up with a cry very hungry.
Like any other mum,she was very happy and decided to
breastfeed her immediately and could not hide her joy.
After
a few days of monitoring they were then discharged healthy and lively.
But years
later while in high school Shish passed through a period of depression that
was caused by a woman who tried to fight her singing gift. "I realized my
singing gift and not just fighting but followed by ruthless names both
to me and my mother. I would write a song, she would tear it up and
amazingly would leave the tatters on my desk. When I sang in the CU,
guess what she would punish me and beat me too. I washed the classrooms
and pavements only because I sang for God. My high school education was
hell and I pray no student who has this gift will ever go through this
mistreatment."
So as the mistreatment went on, it led to stress which
resulted in depression. This depression went on for a while and revived
the scars which had been left when she had the accident in her childhood
days.
What followed were seizure attacks that shocked everyone. Thinking
that the falls would finally keep this woman off, it was not to be.
She finally declared war on anyone who would assist Shish whenever she had an
attack.
Her plan was that Shish should be left desperate.
Shish cannot forget her School Matron who came in handy and so did her
chemistry teacher who became of great help in her life ever since.
She also salutes all the girls who closed their ears to the warning of that woman.
They too have suffered because of assisting her.
As if its not enough Shish goes ahead and gives us more ,she says..."One
day when the bell rang for lunch break, in the midst of this falls and
punishments because of singing, I took my biology book and off I went to
our field. It was very large and green grass all over. I remember leaning on the wall of our hall and shed uncontrollable tears. I had too
much pain in my heart. After I cried until I could cry no more, I
questioned God for all the misfortunes I went through in school. I felt
hated by God but He reminded me that He loves me so much. The pain would
come to an end one day. With those consoling words, I felt some peace
back in my heart. I took a pen and I wrote this words in my book, "God
give me a new beginning, change my life, fill me with your happiness and
then reward me with favour and peace."
These words were later
transformed into a beautiful song she has done KIAMBIRIRIA KIERU(NEW BEGINNING) that
blessed many including the President, President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta but it was not to end there.
The mistreatment went on until when she was in form 4
first term.
Here she experienced the worst that could have ever been done. "She
was chased away from school because I she singing, she was sick and wrote
songs. "She had purposed to kill this gift completely but she could not
be able. I had my chemistry, English teachers and Matron who encouraged
me. She came for me in class while I was doing the exams and was sent
away by the teacher invigilating the examsbut good enough sh was told she that wouldn't see me until I
finish my exam paper"
She made a call to her mother and
told her with a rude voice, "come and get your daughter, she is ashaming
and shocking the other girls when she gets a seizure attack." Then a
senior in her work not minding that mum would have written a letter and
sent it to the head office and her job would be at stake.
To cut the
long story short she did but mum kept calm knowing that her God is not
asleep.
"She came for me and we went home and next week Monday mum had
secured for me a place in another school. I did my KCSE and passed well.
After that dad hired a car and took me to college sonce mum was at work
and I did a diploma in journalism and mass communication. After my
college education I did my first album Kiambiriria Kieru and I just
launched Turi Ahotani my second album in May."
